Fondation Le Corbusier

Le Corbusier, who had no direct descendants, wanted to ensure by founding a foundation that the "œuvre" (his complete work) including plans, writings and works of art, carefully preserved by him, was collected in an archive and made accessible to the public after his death.

Therefore, he endeavored to regulate the foundation in detail during his lifetime and make it exist. In 1968, the Fondation Le Corbusier was founded in Paris, which manages Le Corbusier's life's work to this day. It is located in one of his key works - the 'Maisons La Roche-Jeanneret', built by Le Corbusier between 1923 and 1925, which has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2016.

In keeping with its statutes and mission, the Fondation Le Corbusier dedicates all its resources to the preservation, knowledge and dissemination of the life's work of Le Corbusier. The Fondation has entrusted the dissemination of the Architectural Polychromy exclusively to Les Couleurs Suisse AG, based in Zurich. The task of the Fondation Le Corbusier is to protect and preserve his cultural heritage. The foundation supports research work and publishes numerous publications. Their primary objectives are: 

• preserving the architectural work of Le Corbusier
  
  
• archiving and publishing the writings and plans of Le Corbusier
  
  
• initiatives to include the works of Le Corbusier in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites  

• tours through Le Corbusier buildings
  
  
• promoting research on Le Corbusier's works and their publication.
